What I’ve Got Going On
I’m so fortunate to have an incredible job that I love which both challenges and fulfills me. Yet, none of what I do would be as meaningful to me without an audience to share it with. Stay up to date on all the latest news about the productions, events, and community work I’m involved with by having a look at the articles below.

About 4thU Artivists
Now celebrating their 11th year, 4thU Artivists is a group dedicated to activism through the arts, originally founded in 2009 to support Eve Ensler’s global V-Day movement to end violence. The group produced benefit performances of The Vagina Monologues in their first several years, working in collaboration with Ensler, the playwright.
Since then the group has produced new plays, concerts, dance performances, art exhibits, a cabaret, and even a comedy show, raising over $165,000 for organizations dedicated to ending violence.
BY LILLIAN ISABELLA, A BENEFIT PRODUCTION TO END VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND GIRLS.
March 19, 20, 21 at 7pm
Fresh from a Fall 2019 world premiere at the Cherry Lane Theater, the play is a sex-positive response to the #MeToo movement, celebrating female sexuality and how fun sex can be. Proceeds will go to organizations that help end violence toward women and girls.
Lillian Isabella, a graduate of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts, is an accomplished actor and playwright. Her documentary play about filmmaker Jonas Mekas, called That’s How Angels Arranged, inspired a section of the New York Times-bestselling book Happiness Is a Choice You Make by John Leland. She has appeared in a number of films, including Hannah Has a Ho Phase, which co-starred Kate McKinnon.
The play weaves Isabella’s own stories and observations among the narratives of 28 women she interviewed about their sexual histories and attitudes. In an article for TheaterMania, she said, “I discovered that with time, many of the women interviewed came to understand that embracing their sexuality and accessing their pleasure can be a great source of personal power.”
Downtown Magazine praised the play’s “simple honesty,” and Holli Harms of Front Row Center called How We Love/F*ck “a declaration of joy to every part of our bodies,” adding “I left the theater feeling really good about being a woman.”
For this new production, Erin Bigelow, creative director of 4thU Artivists, cast 28 actors in order to present “varied experiences portrayed by vastly different voices,” she says. “Trans women, queer women, cis women, non-binary folk, women of color and otherwise; this show brings us together to talk about sex, and the lack of sex, and consent, and lust, and ventures to territories unknown.”
Net proceeds from this event will support the work of our beneficiary: Sakhi. Sakhi for South Asian Women unites survivors, communities, and institutions to eradicate domestic violence and create strong, healthy communities.

LATIN LIVES
June 25, 30 & July 1
LATIN LIVES is a journey inward, through the trials, triumphs, and tribulations of being Latino in todays New York City.
A theatre piece addressing various facets within Latino culture. It is a refreshing departure from the downbeat and often negative portrayals of the Latin experience. Challenging commonly held misconceptions, aiming to enlighten as well as entertain.
LATIN LIVES premiered September 28th 1992, and since then has garnered exceedingly positive responses with each incarnation of the show. It is a comedy rife with hilarious moments, but also has its share of thought-provoking passages.

LA MUJER DE MIGUEL HERNANDEZ
Jun 26, 30 and July 1
Creación propia basada en los textos del poeta, dirigida por Sandra Gumuzzio, adaptada
de la original de Ignacio Marraco, estrenada en Madrid en 2010, con el motivo del
centenario del nacimiento de Miguel Hernández. Hemos querido contribuir a conservar
Mercedes Vasques, Sandra Gumuzzio y Asier Kintana. Además, contamos con la
maravillosa música compuesta por Luis Callejón. La dirección corre a cuenta de Sandra
Gumuzzio, con la ayudantía de Victoria Freire y Vanessa Ortiz.

A burlesque is a literary, dramatic or musical work intended to cause laughter by caricaturing the manner or spirit of serious works, or by ludicrous treatment of their subjects.
Our Burlesque show's theme is "It's a Woman's World."
We are showcasing all faces of women in their power; whether it’s funny, hot, raunchy, sophisticated, bada$$, soft, sensual and vulnerable. Women have so many layers to express to the world & they run the show!
